The Women Doctors of the Church
Our vocation is love. “Trying to do it all” Today’s women show the effects of stress
and fatigue. The feminine genius calls us to balance our lives. It is imperative that
we address these issues as Catholic women. The authors of the Arlington Diocese
Council of Catholic Women have prayerfully arranged this collection of spiritual
exercises and reflections based on the teachings of the four women doctors of the
Church. Beginning with a homily entitled “Women in the New Evangelization”;
Arlington Diocese Bishop Loverde inspires women who read these workbooks.

Details:
The Women Doctors of the Church is a free program offered to
parishes throughout the Diocese of Arlington.
A typical Women Doctors presentation lasts about 90 minutes.
While ADCCW doesn’t have a set schedule per se, the first speaker
covers Teresa of Avila, Catherine of Siena, and Therese of Lisieux.
The second speaker covers Hildegard of Bingen. The presentations
are of about equal length--20-25 minutes each--but the feedback we
received while developing Hildegard was that women wanted to know
more about her. (However, this schedule can be altered depending on
what you would like to have featured.)
There are discussion starters/things to ponder for each presentation,
and we typically take a 10-15-minute break between them.
Workbooks One and Two cost $10 a piece to cover the cost of
printing. To order, see details above.
The ADCCW is excited to share with you the new free "leave behind"
companion guide that the we have created. It is completely based on
the content that the Diocese of Arlington approved for the
presentations. You will find the discussion questions for each within
the companion guides. The plan is to bring enough to each
presentation that the attendees can receive the companion guide at the
beginning; that way, they don’t have to scribble down the questions,
timeline or resources.
The Arlington Diocese Council of Catholic Women looks forward to hearing from
you and learning together from these amazing Doctors of the Church!
